To have or not to have… that is the question. First see if a bridal session is included in your wedding Bridal portraits, from my observation over the past 9 years as a professional Chattanooga wedding photographer, have only been created before the wedding day on a 3% basis. Usually this is from a very traditional mother of the bride seeking to have a wall portrait of her daughter presented at the wedding. This type of thing doesn’t show up at Chattanooga weddings anymore that I’ve noticed. It actually seems to be an inconvenience to the bride to be since she is more concerned about the details of the wedding and juggling them with work and/or school. Also, I’ve noticed the bride will have a different hair do, doesn’t wear the jewelry she will on her wedding day and has different flowers for her portrait than she will on her actual wedding day. So here is how I handle this situation for everyone’s benefit… schedule in a little extra time, say 10-15 minutes for “just her in her dress” in a beautiful location. This will give the seasoned pro photographer a nice window to create a wall portrait. Now, something else to consider… she will have more excitement and happiness normally if she gets to privately meet her soon to be husband first. Having him on the sidelines staring at her and how beautiful she is allows her to feel like a princess being adored. This is what every bride wants to feel as she is all dolled up on her very special day.
